SIDDHA PUDAM DEVICE

Making high order medicines like Kattu Kalangu, in Traditional Siddha medicine is still fraught with challenges. Chief among them is inconsistent energy sources like cow dunk cake. In this era of traditional Siddha medicine spreading all over the world, availability of medicine without shortage is very important. Keeping this in mind, we started the effort to make the modern PUDAM DEVICE almost without any change from the traditional method. Prof. Dr.Senthil Velan, IIT, Guwahati spearheaded this. Several phases of discussion and fieldwork took place at IIT Chennai, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM, Chennai, Health India Foundation, Chennai, pharmaceutical institutes like IMPCOPS, SKM. Traditional Siddha physician.Dr. M.A. Hussain, Professor of Siddha Medicine Dr.I.Sorna Mariammal, Siddha Doctor. Parameswaran , Dr.L.Siva Kumar, Professors Dr.Gnanamoorthy, and Dr. J Ramachandran at IIT Chennai, were the key persons for the Consultation meetings and trials. After extensive field studies and data by students of IIT Guwahati including Mr A S Ganesh Kumar for his PhD program , the Central Government gave financial assistance to our proposal. The project was successful and the device is now in use. ( details attached)

Also got a patent from the Government of India

At this juncture, the effectiveness of the device in various traditional Siddha preparations needs to be studied and documented. All Siddha medical Institutions, manufacturing companies and medical practitioners should work together to investigate and disseminate its effectiveness.
